From BBC News: Serbian village venerates Rocky
A tiny village in Serbia says it will construct a statue of the film character Rocky to ward off decades of bad luck . . .

The idea came from Bojan Marceta, a village resident, when he saw the latest Rocky film "Rocky Balboa".

"I felt as if Rocky has come from our village, he had to fight to win his place in society," he told B92 radio.
"Also," added Marceta, "His English is comically broken and barely intelligible, just like ours."

Dustin is coming to Vaganza which, including me, brings the number of creepy McGill Improv alumni trying to recapture the glory of their youth this year up to three! (Not counting the usual crowd of Bryan, Chris Dye, Vinny, etc.) It is going to be a crazy good time and I am so excited I will probably wet the bed tonight, if I can even get to sleep at all.

One week til Montreal!

You, Dustin and who else? If you wrote this post to make me jealous, you have succeeded. However, I still don't think I can come :(

Andrew, I am so excited. this is almost sad. I mean as far as I am concerned, this is the highlight of my 2007. It's all downhill after March 1-2. oh boy.

And Mariana, I think the third party is Gil. It is indeed sad that you can't make it, but i'll party with you whenever you get a chance to come.

Wait? How did I get in that list? I show up for the one hour WA performs, chat for 15 minutes and then take off. I haven't been to a workshop in years! For that, I get lumped in with Bryan "Check Out My Hoodie" Walsh?? Boo!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some Diablo II to play while listening to Smells Like Teen Spirit.

What do your recent contributions to w/o Annette have to do with Vaganza?

Check out my hoodie--it's awesome.

Lockdown... with hoodies.

Lock down with... Vinny!

Just tie him to a chair so he can't leave and have all the undergrads guess how old he is.

Hey, thanks for not including me on that list of old and/or creepy improv folks. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go pray to may hat from "Lockdown with Hats" circa 2000 and comb out my grey hairs in preparation for the big event!

I'm sorry to disappoint, but Chris and I agree that it should be lock-down with sports. I suppose there should be some sort of general vote for this. And as much as you old/creepy folks hate being called old and creepy, I appreciate your old and creepy presence at all times.

Ken, you can't LOL your own comment.

I am so creepy, and I will recapture my goddamned youth.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go...save...Israel? Ugh.

But then who will?

Thanks, Adrienne, for your semi-comforting words. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to apply some "Just For Men" to my pubes. (Too old? Too creepy? Too bad.)

Yo, I've been doing Improv since high school! I don't know what that says about me...

maryam- i will party with you too!

i may have to be in boston for an improv show on the same friday night as vaganza. Is it noon to noon, or 9am to 9am?

p.s. Bryan's hoodie is awesome!
p.p.s I miss you all. It sounds like it's going to be great.

Lockdown... with sports? The improv persona doesn't come across as super athletic. This "long and lean" crew bruises easily by playing broomball, curling, ultimate, and various martial arts (for killing).
Good one!
